Key concerns were raised by the visiting team on threat analysis specifically relating to the 26th November 2023 situation, possible reasons behind the attempted failed coup, kind of support RSLAF may expect from ECOMSIL and the possible way forward to the Yenga situation among others. It was agreed that a joint RSLAF/ECOMSIL coordination committee be formed and that a multi-faceted approached is needed in addressing the security situation in the country.

The ECOWAS team also on Tuesday 6th February 2024 made a courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Col (Rtd) Muana Brima Massaquoi. The DMD in his welcome address informed the visiting team that he had been briefed about the meeting the team held with Senior Management of the Ministry of Defence and promised them of RSLAF’s fullest support, cooperation and collaboration at all times.
